PLANNING TOOLS / MAGNET PLANNER
Translate end units into magnet mass.
Work from the finished component requirement and make process yield and composition assumptions visible.
YOUR SCENARIO
Illustrative planning. The default mass fraction is a sample input. Validate grade, material specification and yield with your engineering team.
Read the method.
- Finished quantity and mass
- End units × magnets per unit. Finished mass in kilograms is magnet count × grams per magnet ÷ 1,000.
- Process input
- Finished mass ÷ mass yield, expressed as a decimal. The difference is the mass loss allowance. It does not assume scrap recovery.
- Contained rare-earth mass
- Finished mass × your assumed rare-earth fraction. This is a content estimate for the finished magnet, without an oxide, alloy or purchasing conversion.
The default values are synthetic. Replace them with supplier-approved data for the intended grade, process and geometry.
